In December 2024, Les Cabanes des Grands Chênes have obtained theEuropean ecolabel, a prestigious and demanding distinction, symbol of a strong commitment to sustainable tourism.

A source of pride for our teams, our partners and our customers, who accompany us every day in this human adventure. This label enhances one of our unusual accommodations in the middle of nature, both comfortable and environmentally friendly, just a stone's throw from Paris.

The European Ecolabel: a guarantee of environmental excellence

Awarded by an independent body, the European Ecolabel is the only official ecological certification recognized throughout the European Union. It is based on a comprehensive assessment of more than 60 environmental criteria: management of energy, water, waste, choice of materials, local involvement...

For the Cabanes des Grands Chênes, located only 1 hour from Paris in the forest of the Domaine du Château de Raray, this label is a natural and coherent step of a long-standing commitment to progressive tourism.

Eco-labelled huts, a committed field

Every gesture counts, and in this field, commitments translate into concrete and sustainable actions :

• 🌳 Zero thermal vehicle to preserve the tranquility of the place and the quality of the air. The car park is located at the reception of the domain, where we invite you to leave your car. An electric charging station is also available there.
• 🌡️ Thermal films on windows, LED lighting, controlled temperature in common areas.
• 💧 Nordic baths treated without chemicals, with spaced emptying, making it possible to limit water and electricity expenses.
• 🛏️ Linen change only on request.
• 🍃 Bulk or refillable products in bathrooms, no single-use plastic, water fountains to fill Purezza bottles in the cabin.
• ♻️ Selective sorting accessible to all and responsible waste management.
• 🐝 Preservation of biodiversity : orchard near the Eclipse, Epopée and Reckless huts, limitation of soil artificialization, nature education through the welcome booklet available in each of the huts.
• 🤝 Local partners located less than 50 km away, to promote the know-how of the territory but also consumption in short circuits.
